Sparks & Ashes is a series of abstract expressionist paintings created in 2022 using aerosol, acrylic and foam on wood. The finished works represent a conversation between the conscious and subconscious, the past and the future, a man and God.

In this process, I find myself creating from a state where I consistently act without thinking. Marks are made with fast, visceral actions and looong swoooooping motions whilst dancing with the canvas. It’s as if I am not even the creator of this work, just simply the vessel by which the painting gradually reveals itself.
